THE Hon. David Harris, Member for Wyong, presented the $21,156.00 cheque to President Donna Lerway and member Carol Stowe at the club’s base.

Mr Harris said, “The grant supports the club of 70 members with a new boat and a boat trolley specifically handmade by dragon boat member Bernie.”

The club welcomes new members who are competitive in racing previously achieving strong placings at the NSW and Australian titles or looking for a hobby and meet new people.

Ms Lerway calls out to the community to come and try this fantastic sport of Dragon Boating. The club will be holding a Learn to Paddle program on the 29th of September at 9am, located next to the Marine Rescue Centre, Peel Street Toukley. Ages 14 and above are welcome. Wear comfortable sporting clothing, water shoes or old sneakers, hat, sunglasses, water bottle and we will supply the paddle and boat.

Mr Harris encourages local community groups in the Wyong electorate to apply for the Community Building Partnership Program in the future to support projects.
