ON Saturday 26 March, Berkeley Vale Rural Fire Brigade celebrated 70 years of outstanding service to the Central Coast community. The team of volunteers perform a critical role in providing education and emergency response to incidents that threaten life, property and the environment.

Member for The Entrance, David Mehan, was pleased to join the volunteers in a special ceremony to honour their dedication and hard work.

Recently we have seen unprecedented levels of emergency events in our community and the Brigade have been there to provide the necessary assistance to those who need it.

As part of the ceremony, twenty four brigade members received the National Emergency Medal for service to our community.

“I was delighted and honoured to attend the 70th anniversary celebration of Berkeley Vale Rural Fire Brigade.” David Mehan said.

“I want to thank the Brigade for its work and congratulate the members who received a National Emergency Service medal for their work during the 2019/20 bushfires.”
