Road workers injured after truck crashes into stationary work vehicles on M1
Two road workers have been seriously injured after a semi-trailer crashed into two stationary work vehicles on M1 at around 6.30 this morning.

EMERGENCY services were called to the southbound lanes of the M1, at Kangy Angy, after a semi-trailer crashed through a work zone and hit two stationary vehicles that impacted with two workmen.
Both men suffered serious injuries and have been taken to hospital for further treatment. One man’s condition is considered serious, the other is believed to be stable.
The semi-trailer caught alight; the driver was able to free himself and escaped injury. He will be taken to hospital for mandatory tests.
The southbound lanes of the M1 were closed for many hours with local diversions in place. CONTRAFLOW conditions were put in place causing major delays in both directions.
Traffic was chaotic on Hue Hue Road and the Pacific Highway as motorists sought other ways to travel south.
People working in Wyong, Tuggerah and other suburbs experienced delays of two to three hours to reach their place of employment.
