Guess what Scotty?

The vaccine rollout is a race!

More than half of Australians are locked down and the other half with restrictions imposed upon them because of Scott Morrison’s stubborn incompetence.

Scott Morrison's incompetent vaccine rollout mess could well be his undoing.

21 July 2021

AFTER no media appearance for over three days, the Prime Minister has been on a radio blitz telling Australians his vaccine rollout was “on the right track.”

In response to questions on whether he regrets saying the vaccine rollout “is not a race,” he tried to mislead Australians and claim his comments were about the vaccine approval process.

The Pfizer vaccine was approved by the TGA on 25 January. The AstraZeneca vaccine was approved by the TGA on 16 February.

The fact is Scott Morrison went on a media spree on 11 March where he was asked about the slow rollout of the vaccine. In response to those questions the Prime Minister repeatedly said the rollout “is not a race”. He said it on SunriseToday, in a press conference and repeated it in another press conference on 14 March.

Scott Morrison had two jobs this year: a speedy and effective vaccine rollout and quarantine arrangements that were fit for purpose. He’s failed on both of those.

Only 11 per cent of Australians are fully vaccinated against COVID, the worst rate in the OECD.

Only 1 in 4 aged care workers, who were supposed to be vaccinated by Easter, are fully vaccinated.

Only 30 per cent of Australians aged over 70, who were supposed to be vaccinated by winter, are fully vaccinated.

The rollout is a race. We are 18 months into the pandemic, three states are in lockdown, millions of workers are going without wages and businesses are crippled.

These are the consequences of Scott Morrison thinking the vaccine rollout isn’t a race.
