Have your say on the future of

the Central Coast's commercial centres

Central Coast Council is inviting feedback on the Draft Commercial Lands Strategy, a long-term plan to guide the growth and development of commercial centres across the region.

THE Central Coast is growing and the Strategy will help plan for the jobs, businesses, services and commercial shopping centres needed to support the community into the future.

Central Coast Mayor, John McNamara said feedback from businesses, property owners, industry stakeholders and the community will help refine the Commercial Lands Strategy before it is finalised.

"Our commercial centres are important places where people work, shop, access services and support local businesses," Mayor McNamara said.

"As our region grows, we need to ensure our centres continue to thrive and meet the needs of residents, businesses and visitors. We want to hear what's working well, where improvements may be needed and what people value most in their local centres."

“This feedback will help shape the final Strategy and future planning priorities across the Central Coast.”

Feedback will help Council identify issues and opportunities affecting commercial centres, better understand local business needs and market conditions and refine the Strategy's directions and recommended actions.

Importantly, the Draft Commercial Lands Strategy does not change existing zoning or approve new development. While it identifies areas that may warrant further investigation in the future, any rezoning proposals would be subject to separate planning processes and community consultation.

Businesses, property owners and industry stakeholders are strongly encouraged to review the Draft Commercial Lands Strategy and share their feedback from 2 November to 14 December 2026.
