Morrison yet to spend cent
on Gosford car park promise
Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch has slammed the Morrison Government after it was revealed that the Federal Government has still not provided a single cent towards the $30 million Gosford Commuter Car Park commitment made by the Morrison Government before the 2019 federal election.

THE Morrison Governments Urban Congestion fund came under severe scrutiny following an investigation by the Auditor General, which found that the scheme had been selected by spreadsheets circulated by Scott Morrison and Barnaby Joyce’s office without any input from the public service.
Labor has labelled the scheme “Sports rorts on steroids”.
Labor's Mark Buttigieg MLC asked the following question of the Government following March Budget Estimates: “To this date, how much of the $30 million commitment made by the Federal Government been spent on the delivery of this project?”
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, Sam Farroway MLC replied, “To date, the Federal Government has not allocated any funding to Transport for NSW for Gosford Commuter Car Park Project.”
Ms. Tesch says this evidence proves our community shouldn’t believe Lucy Wicks’ and Scott Morrison’s election pledges.
“This admission by the NSW Government only confirms what Coasties already know; you can’t trust Lucy Wicks, Scott Morrison and the Liberal Government,” said Ms. Tesch.
“When politicians like Scott Morrison and Lucy Wicks come to our community with empty words and a blank cashbook during election campaigns all we get is bounced cheques and broken promises.”
Labor Candidate for Robertson, Dr. Gordon Reid says the revelations are disappointing but not surprising.
“When I speak to commuters across the Central Coast they are crying out for better infrastructure, less congestion and more parking. They certainly aren’t crying out for hollow promises from a Government mired in pork barrelling scandals,” said Dr. Reid.
“It’s time to elect a Government which takes its responsibilities seriously and delivers what they promise”.
