THE project was made possible with $8m funding provided to Central Coast Council by the Minns Labor Government to fund footpath priority improvements across the Central Coast identified in Council’s Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (‘PAMP) and Bike Plan.
Oakland Avenue is a high pedestrian area which provides access to both The Entrance Public School and is a thoroughfare to The Entrance Township.
The footpath upgrade, which took place between Campbell Avenue and Fairview Avenue, has now been completed and provides a well-connected path for local residents and makes the walk to school safer and more accessible for children and families.
This project is part of ten projects which will be delivered by Central Coast Council across The Entrance electorate.
Member for The Entrance David Mehan said, “The absence of a footpath along Oakland Avenue was one of major concern to my community and one which I have long been advocating for. I’m pleased to see that this project has now been completed.
“Another highly anticipated footpath is planned for Brooke Avenue, Killarney Vale which has been a long standing priority for my community.
“The Minns Labor Government is committed to improving accessibility and I’m glad that The Entrance electorate is benefiting from these essential footpath upgrades.”
